The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is one of the most culturally rich and scenic treks in Nepal's lower Mustang region. This trek offers breathtaking views of the majestic Annapurna range, a visit to the sacred Muktinath temple, and a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the local lifestyle and traditions. As part of the popular Annapurna Trekking Zone, the route passes through the world's deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki.

The trek offers stunning vistas of the Annapurna II-IV, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Hiunchuli peaks. Other highlights include picturesque apple orchards, locally produced apple wines and a visit to the holy Muktinath temple.

The 7-day Jomson Muktinath itinerary begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, followed by a bus ride to the picturesque city of Pokhara. From Pokhara, you'll take a breathtaking flight to Jomson, enjoying stunning views of the mountains as the plane ascends from low hills to towering peaks.

After landing in Jomsom,trekkers embark on their journey to Kagbeni village, followed by a trek to the sacred Muktinath Temple and nearby places. After exploring the temple and its surroundings, trekkers will then trek back to Jomsom. The trek concludes with a flight back to Pokhara from Jomsom followed by a drive back to Kathmandu the next day.

Alternatively, for those seeking a more challenging trekking experience, you can include a detour to Poon Hill which will add a few extra days to your itinerary.

Your Jomsom Mustang adventure begins in Kathmandu. After landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, you'll be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and adjust to the time zone before embarking on your trek.

On the second day, you will embark on a scenic drive to Pokhara. The drive will take approximately 6-7 hours with a short lunch break along the way.The drive will take us through picturesque landscapes,including terraced farmlands and the serene Trishuli River.

Upon arriving in Pokhara, you will check into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore this vibrant city. You can visit the famous Fewa Lake, Tal Barahi Temple, Begnas Lake, Davis Fall or relax by the lakeside.

After breakfast, on the third day we will head to the airport to catch an early morning flight to Jomsom. As the plane ascends, prepare to be captivated by a breathtaking panorama of surrounding peaks, including the majestic Macchhapuchhre(6,993m), Annapurna I(8,091m), Dhaulagiri(8,167m), Annapurna II(7,837m), and more.

Nestled on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, Jomsom has experienced a surge in both domestic and international tourism in recent years due to improved connectivity between Pokhara and Mustang. 

After lunch in Jomsom with the majestic Nilgiri Himal standing proudly by our side, we'll depart for Kagbeni.The 4-5 hour hike leads us to this ancient town, where we'll spend the night.

We'll begin our fourth day with breakfast, and trek to Ranipauwa. The trail winds through arid landscapes and small settlements like Khingar and Jharkot, leading us to Ranipauwa. As the nearest village to the sacred Muktinath Temple, we'll spend the night there. Immerse yourself in the warm hospitality of the Thakali people and enjoy a dinner of locally grown buckwheat, millet, lentils and rice. 

Early in the morning, we'll walk to the Muktinath Temple. Along the way, you'll encounter many local and Indian pilgrims making their way to this sacred site.
 Muktinath is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple complex includes the main temple, 108 water spouts, ponds, the Jwala Mai Temple, and a Buddhist monastery dedicated to Guru Rinpoche.

Followers believe that bathing in the pond and using the 108 water spouts can cleanse their sins from past lives. After exploring the temple, we'll hike back to Ranipauwa for breakfast.

Following breakfast, we'll retrace our steps downhill to Jomsom, enjoying the magnificent views of the Annapurna Range. We'll spend the night in Jomsom, concluding the trekking portion of our itinerary.

After an early morning breakfast in Jomsom, we'll take a short, scenic 20-minute flight back to Pokhara. Upon landing, you'll be transferred to your hotel. After freshening up, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the vibrant city of Pokhara.

On the last day of our trip, we'll drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages. After this 6-7 hour drive, we will arrive in Kathmandu ending our 7 day Jomsom Mustang trek.
