If you ask me, my personal opinion about which one is better? Then it depends on many factors. If we talk about the mountain views, then Everest Base Camp definitely has better mountain views than Annapurna Base Camp. Because, of course, the more challenging the trek is, the better views you'll get. And about the difficulty part, EBC is more challenging than ABC. Since I am an experienced trekker, I like challenges, so I might choose Everest Base Camp. But if you’re new to trekking, then choose the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is an easy to moderate level of trekking but offers every beautiful view and scenery.
When I have limited time, I prefer going to the Annapurna Base Camp trek because it is an easy trek in a short time, while the Everest Base Camp trek takes more days. Also, the EBC trek costs more than the ABC trek, so if you’re looking for a Budget trek, then the Annapurna Base Camp trek might be better for you. Which trek to choose depends on you. Choose the Everest Base Camp trek if you love snow-covered mountains and glaciers. But, if you prefer the landscapes with forests, rivers, and green valleys, then ABC will steal your heart.

The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is shorter and more flexible than the Everest Base Camp Trek. Most of the trekkers complete this trek in 7 to 10 days. The maximum altitude is at 4,130m, so there is less risk of altitude sickness and no need for extra acclimatization days, which saves our time. The trails are more accessible, and no mountain flights are needed. You’ll drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara to the trekking spot. This makes ABC trek the best choice for trekkers who have limited time but still want to explore the mountains.

Best time to trek: EBC vs ABC
The best time to trek to Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp is actually quite similar. Spring (March to May) and Autumn (late September to November) are best seasons for both treks. In spring, the weather is warm, skies are clear, and in the Annapurna region you’ll see beautiful blooming rhododendron forests. Autumn is the most popular for both treks because the air is crisp and fresh. The trekking trail is dry after the monsoon rains. This season gives you the clearest mountain views.
Winter season (December to February) is also possible for both ABC and EBC trek but it is really cold especially for EBC, where high passes and trails can get icy. If you can bear cold then you can go in winter too. The monsoon season (June to August) is not recommended for either trek because of heavy rain, slippery trails, and landslides in Annapurna, plus clouds hiding the peaks.
